DIAMOND AWARDS & MORE
Branson Gospel Music Revival w/ Emma Carter

Today started with getting up bright and early to have rehearsal for the New Faces Showcase finale! It went really well. The showcase began at one o'clock and was so much fun. Everybody did so amazing! I hope they will make it a part of the program every year, because I really enjoyed it. My favorite part was the finale when all the "New Faces" came out and did a song together. It was awesome! After that my brother, Stone, and I emceed for about and hour. It was our first time emceeing, and we had a phenomenal time!

The Pathway Talent Search competition took place this morning at ten o'clock. I sat in for the better part of it, and was astonished at the talent! I thoroughly enjoyed listening to all of them perform. Common Bond Quartet was announced as the winner at the 2011 Diamond Awards tonight! They won a recording contract with Pathway Records in Nashville, TN. Congratulations Guys!

The 2011 Diamond Awards were held at Branson Gospel Music Revival this year. Beyond the Ashes and Christie Sutherland were the hosts for the evening. There were some awesome performances by, Beyond the Ashes, 2nd Generation, McMillan and Life, Rod Burton, Ann Downing, High Road and many more! It was a great night of awesome music, and acknowledging some of the artists who have achieved excellence throughout the last year. I also got to sing at the awards with my family. We were supposed to sing my song "Crimson Stain", but when we went on stage they started playing our song "God is Good". Let's just say, it's been an eventful day!

Congratulations to Driven Quartet for receiving the Diamond Award for Favorite Christian Country Group, Website, and Favorite Album. I also want to congratulate my friends Voices of Glory for receiving the Sunrise Artist Award. The Lou Hildreth Award went to Rob Patz and Kelly Burton for their work on SGN Scoops Digital Magazine.

After the Diamond Awards we heard some more great music by the Greesons, HisSong, Praise Inc., Taj Rohr and Kenny Bishop. One of the highlights of the evening was a special appearance by Mr. Carroll McGruder. He sang the McGruder’s hit song, “I’m Going Home With Jesus”.

I'm sitting beside a long time friend, Emily Dykes, with The Greesons, as I’m writing this article. It's been ages since I've seen her, and I'm really enjoying catching up. I always enjoy talking about all of the old memories and fun times we've had.

I'm really sad that tomorrow is the last day of Branson Gospel Music Revival. It's been such a good year, but you know how it goes, all good things must come to an end. We'll be back next year though, so I'm excited for the new and fun things coming my way!
