ELVIS PRESLEY — Elvis Presley may have been known as the King of Rock and Roll, but he won his only Grammys for gospel recordings. In 1967, and again in 1974, Presley received Grammy awards for his performance of How Great Thou Art.

He also won a Grammy in 1972 for Best Inspirational Performance (He Touched Me).

MASTERS V — Often called "Gospel's Supergroup," the Masters V originated in 1980 with five legendary gospel superstars.

The founding group include Rosey Rozelle on tenor, James Blackwood as lead, baritone Jake Hess, J.D. Sumner on bass and Hovie Lister at the piano.
__

RAMBOS — Consisting of singer-songwriter, Dottie Rambo, her husband Buck, and their daughter Reba, the Rambos' first big hit came in 1967 with He Looked Beyond My Faults. Sung to the tune Londonary Aire (Danny Boy), the words were written by Dottie.

The Rambos, known originally as the Gospel Echoes, were most active during the 1960s and '70s, and were the first gospel group to entertain American troops in Vietnam.

AMBASSADORS OF GRACE NEWS

Greetings, and Happy New Year, everybody!  I hope you all enjoyed a blessed Christmas and have entered the New Year with a renewed commitment to serve the Lord with all your heart, soul, mind and strength.

We closed out 2011, on December 31st, with a New Year’s Eve Gospel Sing at the Robert’s Memorial Center in Keosauqua, Iowa.  The lineup included The Kelly Sisters, Jerry and the Burchetts, The Loynachans, Joyful Noyz, The Musical Hammers, Praises to HIM and us.  We had a wonderful time and a great crowd, with food, fellowship and prayer in abundance.  Put this on your calendar as a great way to bring in 2013, and plan on being there.

Then on January 1, we jumped right into 2012 with concerts at Cantril Christian Church in Cantril, Iowa, and Mt. Zion Community Church in Libertyville, Iowa.  Both congregations truly blessed us with their love and generosity.

We want to thank you for all your prayers and support this past year and take the opportunity to recap 2011 for you.  We want to not only focus on the numbers, but include a few of the highlights and (lowlights) as well.

HIGHLIGHTS:

• On October 26th, Cheryl and I celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary!
• The release of our new CD, which contains seven songs that Cheryl or I wrote
• Being a part of the Hope Haven Benefit Gospel Sing and Kalona Gospel Sing for the first time
• Our home church of Liberty Baptist  hosting and supporting a benefit concert for a family in need that did not even attend our church
• Having dear friends who located and arranged for the spare to be put on the RV when we were finished singing at Cowboy Church, then later securing a used tire and getting it mounted to replace the spare
• Spending a week working at the Iowa State Fair with our good friends, Rich and Sue Newhall
• Realizing we could get all our sound equipment in the van and didn’t need to pull a cargo trailer after all (the aftermath of the cargo trailer breaking down)
• The purchase of a 2006 27’ Coachmen camping trailer to pull behind the van, thus reducing our motel bills while increasing our gas mileage compared to the RV
• When our van broke it’s serpentine belt idler pulley at a church we sang at in Arnold, MO, the pastor and her husband not only purchased the replacement part, but he also put in about six hours of labor to take off and replace the part without taking any money for his work.
• The donation of four wireless microphones
• The donation of 126 9 volt batteries to power those mics

We could go on with many other blessings we received throughout the year, but it would take up too much of everyone’s time.  That will be a great thing about heaven; we can share all of the things God did for us while we were here on this earth and not have to worry about how much time it takes.

Needless to say, God was very good to us in 2011.  His blessings were new every day, and if you contributed to our ministry in any way this last year you were one of those blessings.  Thanks to all who prayed for, encouraged and strengthened us.  Thanks to those who gave financial gifts and contributions.  Thanks to those who gave money to help with the creation of soundtracks and to help pay songwriter royalties when we made our new CD.  Thanks to our monthly supporters for your faithfulness in giving and your trust and confidence in us.  We are blessed to know so many wonderful people.

We pray that you will listen for God’s call in this new year.  We hope you will do what He wants you to do and go where He wants you to go.  We pray above all that we will all remain humble in our service to the Lord, and that we always remember it’s all…

Because of Christ,
Dennis and Cheryl
