Welcome to the brand-new State of the Ozarks General Store!

FEB 24 — If you're on my weekly newsletter list, you've heard me yapping about the up-and-coming General Store for some time!

Well, the wait is over (and you don't have to listen to me yap about it anymore!).

But, why all the excitement?

When I started State of the Ozarks, there were a lot of questions that I didn't have answers to. But there was one thing I knew:

State of the Ozarks should be a living website with as much focus as possible on what was going on in the Ozarks right now.

And, clearly, it couldn't just be some archive sitting on the world wide web like an old book.

The best way to counter the archival nature of State of the Ozarks was to introduce General Store.

Take a look at the explanations at right, or just head into the new sections through the navigation bar at the top of this page.

We've got handcrafted art, bluegrass news, comprehensive festival listings and lots more.

I hope you enjoy State of the Ozarks General Store. And I hope you use it often.

Thanks,

(BLUEGRASS NEWS!)

Not limited to the Ozark region, Bluegrass News is huge these days.

It's exciting to see just how much impact this genre is having on a national level.

And it's about time!
(BLUEGRASS FESTIVALS)

Comprehensive bluegrass festival listings are not always easy to come by. I can't promise everything is here, but I've found a lot of 'em!
• see BLUEGRASS NEWS! HERE
(PROFILES IN BLUEGRASS)

Not news, but profiles, this section is the place for band history, musician biographies and more.
(BRANSON HAPPENINGS)

Downtown Branson, Silver Dollar City, theater news and more. There's always something going on in Branson and this is a good place to start lookin'.

(OZARK MOUNTAIN FESTIVALS)

If it's not exactly a bluegrass festival, but it is exactly in the Ozark Mountains, chances are, it's here.
(HILLS & HOLLERS CLASSIFIEDS)

If you have a classified you'd like added, let me know.

And in the meantime, be sure to stop in and meet Milly the Goat. She'll be happy to say hi.

Just ask her!
(ROADSIDE STAND)

I have very fond memories of roadside stands in the Ozarks.

Tends to make me think of peaches. T-shirts.

And big hunks of blue glass.

I miss those days.

And while I couldn't find any blue glass for the occasion, I hope you like the new Roadside Stand anyway.
