FIRE IN THE CHOIR w/ Emma Carter

In 2005 Janet Paschal, who I am proud to say is a native of my home state, North Carolina, was diagnosed with breast cancer. After 11 months of treatment she was declared cancer-free. As part of the Thursday morning of NQC, Janet led a walk for breast cancer.

This afternoon I went into the Fire In The Choir. This is an event that showcases the choral arrangements of popular Southern Gospel songs. Artists like Greater Vision, The Bowling’s, Susan Whisnant, and quite a few more sang with the choir.

I had never been to it before, but I'm glad I did this year because it was great!

This evening at NQC was super crowded!

It's definitely been one of the busiest nights of the week, there were people everywhere! There was a great line up of artist tonight, so I spent the majority of my time in Freedom Hall listening to music and taking pictures.

(PLATE 3) KINGS HERALDS.

The evening concert began with The Collingsworth Family. They were followed by other favorites like, The Talley’s, King's Heralds, Isaacs, and Ernie Haase and Signature Sound!

(PLATE 4) THE ISAACS.

The Isaacs especially blew me away. They sang all my favorites like “Walk On” and “The Three Bells”!

One thing that really touched me was the song “Love You Through.” They wrote it for their mom who previously had breast cancer.

(PLATE 5) These are some of the signs that artists came on stage with.

At the end of the song Southern Gospel artists, who had family members or who had cancer themselves, came on stage.

They held white papers that had how many years they had been clean or how many years they have survived cancer on it. It was so powerful and so sweet!
