(THE DALTON BARN)

A close, angled shot in the historic Irish barn on the old Dalton place, over by Taneyville. It's now owned by Mike and Nancee Micham of M&N Farms.

(LEMON MERINGUE)

Pies are pretty much inseparable from good Ozark cooking and this home-made lemon meringue is no exception.

(NIGHT FESTIVAL)

A crowd gathers for good bluegrass up at the Golden Valley Bluegrass Festival in Clinton. You can just about hear the fiddles in this night shot.

(CAN YOU HEAR THE THUNDER)

This massive cumulo-nimbus formation passed over Osage Beach the summer of '06. It could be seen from south of I-44 and as far north as the Wal-Mart parking lot in Brookfield (which is where I took the photo).

The title of the photo is taken from a song written by native Ozarker, Jamie Haage.
